We understand that this may be a difficult time and will work as quickly and unobtrusively as possible.  Following are some information points that you will need to be familiar with:

  • All technicians are provided with a full battery of vaccinations against Hepatitis A&B and Tetanus.
  • Technicians are issued and trained to use full PPE, including cut-resistant Kevlar gloves and full respirators with HEPA filtration.
  • Biohazard waste must be disposed of according to law: In designated bags packaged within specially marked boxes, and we have an agreement with a licensed disposal operator for pickup and incineration.
  • Blood and body fluids contain many dangerous pathogens and present not only a large health hazard but also a large liability if not disposed of properly.
  • It is a violation of federal law to dispose of human tissue in a landfill.
  • Our documentation is excellent, with Journal notes and photos entered for every job.  These are available to you at any time and can be sent to insurance companies or for your personal use.
  • All porous material that is affected must be disposed of, and all hard surfaces must be cleaned and disinfected.
  • We use hospital grade, EPA registered cleaning products that combine bactericidal, virucidal, and fungicidal properties.
  • Our technicians are trained in applying various odor –control methods as well, including HEPA air scrubbers, chemical counteractants, Hydroxyls, and specialized cleaning products.
  • Financing is available through ServiceMaster corporate for up to $10,000.  The only money down is the processing fee, and we will handle all of the paperwork for you.  If you are interested, ask your Field Manager for details and an application.

Biohazard Cleanup Process

  1. A Field Manager will visit the site to determine the scope and cost before any work begins.
  2. All porous materials that are affected with blood or body fluids must be disposed in accordance with EPA requirements and all hard surfaces cleaned and disinfected.
  3. Contaminated carpet, padding, drywall, subfloor, vanity bases, clothing, etc. must be disposed of properly.
  4. All cleaning must be done with EPA registered disinfectants that kill HIV, Hepatitis, Strep, etc.
  5. In most cases an AFD (Air Filtration Device)  or Hydroxol generator will be run while working to minimize odor and dust.

  7. All waste and affected items must be specially packaged in designated Bio boxes and incinerated by a licensed hazardous waste operator.
  8. Photographic documentation will be made and provided to the customer upon request.
  9. Full PPE is to be worn by all workers engaged in cleanup. This includes a full respirator, single or double body suit, latex gloves, Kevlar cut-resistant gloves, and neoprene gloves.
